Here is what we have to work with. This believe it or not is a 1969 Chevrolet C10 long box, two-wheeled drive, pickup truck. Thanks to the Wyoming dry weather, we have a pretty rust free chassis and body to work with. Why don't I get started by introducing you to the hows and the whys I came to be in possession of such a hunk of well......of such a fixer-upper!
It all started when I met Travis....ah Travis....what can I say about a guy like him? He is well....unique! Travis and I met at one of the Bentonite plants in the Lovell area. He is a product of California that has been relocated for several years in Wyoming. I, on the other hand am a Wyoming native through and through. It is a unique bond that Travis and I share. Although 10 years separate us, we are undoubtedly kindred spirits. We have forged a friendship that has been a rewarding and often educating experience for me. In truth, he is just a great person and a great friend.
Being a couple of restless souls, Travis and I spent time at work inventing ways of occupying our time. We both share a fascination with the outdoors and with older era muscle cars and trucks. The idea of a complete rebuild came about one day during our lunch break when Travis remembered that he had an old 1969 project truck that had been started a number of years ago, but had fallen aside to other aspirations. I have to make everyone aware that Travis' attention span is not the best.....of course, neither is mine really! So the project 1969 Chevrolet C10 was born.
We began this adventure with open minds, high hopes and lots of optimism. We quickly found out that our hopes dwindled from time to time and our wallets, particularly mine, slimmed considerably. Sit back and relax and enjoy our story as it unfolds. You see what we have to work with.......
